Dec 2016 - Studio Building: Pt 7, Thoughts on 2016
December is over, and so with it is Two Thousand and Sixteen. The second half of the year in particular has been all about building a permanent studio so that we can work 24/7 on music in the future. There's loads of progress on that subject to show in this update, starting with...
The Control Room Floor
The Mixing Worktop
As luck would have it, this solid oak worktop that we got from the discounted section in Ikea had the same corner dinged out of it that we needed to cut out anyway for the electrical conduit to serve the plug sockets for the mixing desk. A big discount was had and now the mixing desk worktop is in.
The Control Room part of the studio is coming along nicely. During January I'm going to start digging out a foundation for the Live Room part of the studio which needs to be built from scratch. The window needs to go in as well which will separate the two rooms nicely. Updates on Instagram.
