Oct 2016 - Studio Building: Pt 5, Thoughts on Bob Dylan.
The studio doesn't have a name yet, it still feels a bit early for that. It's taking some shape though. Focusing on the control room at the minute, and particularly the vocal booth so that sooner rather than later we can start recording vocals & amps for whatever follows the "Postcards...." album.
Studio Building: Part 5.
Thoughts on Bob Dylan.
I don't know how to weigh in on whether songwriters should get the Nobel Prize or not. Bob Dylan has just gotten it to apparent controversy. I will expand though on my love for the work of Dylan Snr. It's been a bigger part of my life than I've probably thought to mention before.
Maybe I've got all his albums between either CD or vinyl. I bought & read his "Chronicles" autobiography too in 2004. Around that time I was listening to later albums like "Time Out of Mind", and the underrated "Oh Mercy" on headphones when trying to fall asleep, or instead of sleeping. Something like that. He as much as anyone else informed my idea of what a recording artist is. Newport were wrong. It would've been a tragedy if he had never gone electric. His work defines the rock sphere.
